In Nagqu, a high-altitude city in China, the average elevation reaches an astonishing 4,500 meters. Against this backdrop of grasslands, a modern venue embodying sporting dreams and the expectations of the people is rising – the Nagqu People’s Gymnasium. As the city’s first “low-pressure gymnasium,” it is poised to inject new vitality into this land!

The Nagqu Air-Supported Soccer Field utilizes technology to challenge natural limitations, providing local residents with an all-weather soccer field. As the core area of the Nagqu People’s Sports Center, this sports landmark, covering approximately 68,000 square meters, features a 12,000-square-meter air-supported membrane soccer field built by the GS team, a true “top-tier” achievement for high-altitude sports facilities. In addition to the technologically advanced air-supported membrane soccer field, plans include an indoor basketball court with a capacity of over 2,000 people, professional badminton courts, a table tennis room, and comprehensive supporting facilities such as an athlete reception center, equipment storage, and commercial amenities, comprehensively covering the needs of mass sports and providing support for professional events.

This not only fills the gap in large indoor soccer fields in northern Tibet, but more importantly, it represents a significant transformation in high-altitude sports culture. Constructed using environmentally friendly membrane materials and an air-cushion structure, the stadium creates a vast, column-free, open space, allowing players to play without the constraints of traditional architecture. In addition to withstanding the extreme temperature differences characteristic of high-altitude regions, the stadium is equipped with a professional temperature control system and intelligent ventilation system, ensuring normal operation and openness to fans regardless of whether it’s a blizzard or scorching heat.

Notably, it’s ideally suited for high-altitude areas, featuring oxygen-rich zones, professional-grade artificial turf, and a medium-sized pitch. Essentially, it serves as a training ground for professional athletes, but is also open to the public, who can book and experience the professional-grade football field. Football development, sports, and community are perfectly integrated here. The stadium not only unites the community through football activities but also provides development opportunities for local footballers and is increasingly used to host local and regional football matches and exchange events.
This GS football stadium is more than just an ordinary building; it embodies the spirit and dreams of athletes from the Tibetan Plateau. Here, even at the summit, people can play football freely; climate is no longer a limitation. Passion, running, and the spirit of football converge here, resulting in wonderful achievements. The Nagqu Air Cushion Football Stadium showcases the unique features of the plateau and brings athletes together through football, ensuring that the love for football on the “Roof of the World” will never fade.
