What Membrane System Was Used in This Air Dome Project?
The dome structure adopts a double-layer PVDF membrane system for the external envelope, providing excellent durability, UV resistance, and weather protection under intense desert sunlight and sand exposure.

During the site survey and foundation preparation stage, the project team encountered a major engineering challenge.
An existing underground water tank was located directly within the planned construction area and could not be removed or relocated due to site limitations. This created significant restrictions for the foundation layout and structural support system.
To solve this issue, the GS DOMES engineering team redesigned the foundation solution and carefully distributed the structural load around the water tank area. By optimizing the anchor foundation arrangement, the air-supported dome was successfully erected above the existing structure without affecting the stability or functionality of the water tank.
